Helping community charities and keeping cozy this fall has never been easier with Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric’s Furnace Checks for Charity program Sept.1 through Sept. 30, 2022.
This month, schedule a 14-point systems check with a licensed technician for $99, normally $199. Payments for these inspections are made directly to Colorado Pet Pantry or Firehouse Quilts of Colorado, the two charities participating in the program.
“Just like regular maintenance on your car, homeowners need to check their furnaces too,” said Josh Ward owner of Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric. “This is a good way to keep people’s homes warm while keeping pets fed and kids snug.”
The Colorado Pet Pantry provides food to Colorado pets, allowing families to improve the capacity to care for their animal companions with the goal of keeping them out of shelters. The donations received will further the Pet Pantry’s goal of feeding 100,000 pets at up to 100 monthly pet food banks across Colorado.
“We are honored and delighted to be selected as Furnace Checks for Charity program recipient again this year,” said Eileen Lambert, executive director. “In 2021 this program raised $6,159, which allowed Colorado Pet Pantry to feed 1,231 dogs and cats for a full month.”
Firehouse Quilts of Colorado makes and donates quilts to children and patients who have underwent crisis. Every year more than 1,500 snuggle quilts are given to fire stations to carry on their trucks to sooth children who have suffered accidents, house fires, homelessness and other traumatic events.
“Firehouse Quilts of Colorado has benefited through the generosity of the fundraising event sponsored by Applewood Plumbing and Heating for over 10 years,” said Cathy DiGuiseppi, executive director. “Each year we receive donations enabling us to purchase fabric and batting to make and donate quilts to children/patients in crisis across Colorado. The goal for quilts donated in 2022 is 2,000.”
Furnace Checks for Charity has raised more than $30,000 for charity.
